NCPD has announced the arrest of Shameq Sullins of Hempstead, in connection with a December 25 Homicide.

Hempstead, NY - January 3, 2017 - The Homicide Squad has announced the arrest of Shameq Sullins of Hempstead, 16, in connection with a Homicide that occurred on Monday, December 25, 2017 at 6:25 p.m. in Hempstead.
 
According to detectives, officers responded to a shot spotter on Terrace Ave. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of Rafael I. Cepeda of Hempstead, 35, that had been shot numerous times. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 7:24 p.m. by hospital staff. 
 
Defendant Shameq Sullins is charged with Murder 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
