COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON... ...COASTAL FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY MORNING THROUGH MONDAY AFTERNOON... ...COASTAL FLOOD WARNING IS CANCELLED ...COASTAL FLOODING EXPECTED SUNDAY INTO MONDAY... The National Weather Service in New York NY has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory, which is in effect until 3 PM EST this afternoon. The Coastal Flood Warning has been cancelled. * LOCATIONS...Southwestern Suffolk. * TIMING...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, until 3 PM EST this afternoon. For the Coastal Flood Watch, from Monday morning through Monday afternoon. * COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...Up to one foot of inundation above ground level is possible in low lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways with the high tide cycle today, and up to 2 feet of inundation is likely with the high tide cycle during the day on Monday. * SHORELINE IMPACTS...The combination of elevated water levels and high surf along the ocean beachfront should also result in significant beach erosion and localized splashovers around the times of high tide.

Less than a dozen PSEG Long Island customers are still without power.

Long Island, NY - January 3rd, 2014 - At this time, PSEG Long Island is reporting that 7, of its approximately 1.1 million customers across Long Island and the Rockaways, are currently without service. The majority of customers were restored in an average of less than an hour.
 
We continue to encourage customers to report downed wires or power outages, to PSEG Long Island’s Customer Service line at 1-800-490-0075. PSEG Long Island uses an automated system to handle customer calls as efficiently as possible. Customers who get an automated response when calling PSEG Long Island are encouraged to use it, as it is designed to route their calls to the right destination. If you have specific information regarding damage to wires, transformers or poles, we ask that you stay on the line to speak with a representative to provide that information.
 
Customers with a handheld device, or who are at an alternate location with power, can also report power outages and view the status of their outage by logging in to My Account at www.psegliny.com. General outage activity throughout our service territory is available online at www.psegliny.com and updates are posted on www.psegliny.com/stormcenter during severe weather.
