Gorgeous parks

19 Apr, 2012 4:50 p.m.

Went to walk around Bayard Cutting Arboretum in Oakdale last weekend... I forgot how beautiful it is! It's been years since I've been there...
Can't wait to go back when all the flowers are in bloom. I didn't know they allowed wedding photos to be taken there... what a great idea.
I especially loved the paths through the woods around the water... just gorgeous.

Any other parks in Suffolk county you would recommend?

A good place to go walking around is Sweetbriar Nature Center in Smithtown. They have trails to walk on, a butterfly house, a barn, a garden and tons of animals to look at.

Planting Fields Arboretum is nice too. I believe that's in Oyster Bay. The Sagamore Hill property is nice as well. I love the house too. Old things<3

Thanks I have never heard of Sweet Briar... will check that out. Thanks!

I have been to the Planting Fields... they have summertime outdoor concerts... I always bring a lawn chair and some wine, fruit, cheese and crackers... It is so beautiful there!
