The Wantagh Preservation Society has been in operation since 1965 with the purpose of saving Wantagh's Victorian Railroad Station from demoltion. The Society maintains the Wantagh Museum which is made up of three structures - The Station, The "Jamaica" Railroad Car, and the Original Wantagh Post Office - and arranges other activities to improve the historical and enviromental values of the community.
