Founded in 1994 by Melissa Doktofsky, Toys of Hope is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to helping children in need. Though it may be best known for collecting toys to give to children during the holiday season, Toys of Hope has actually created many programs to provide goods, services, and assistance to the families who need it most all year-round. With no paid employees or professional fund raisers, the charity is able to ensure that 100% of the donations it takes in go toward its cause.
Toys of Hope has been recognized for its outstanding work by state and local governments including boards of education and the Governor of New York, as well as by the mayors of Philadelphia and New Orleans for its work in providing support in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. By helping Toys of Hope you are helping its many great charitable programs, including Chance 2 Dance, Children for Change, Out for a Day, Poor Paws Program, the Dental Program, the Literacy Program, and Pounds for the Poor.
