Rolling River Day Camp is a second-generation, family-owned and operated summer day camp in Nassau County that serves as an extension to a child’s primary education.  Rolling River focuses on creating out-of-classroom learning experiences that develop socialization, cooperation and other intangible life skills.  The program is hosted on a 5+ acre, private and enclosed riverside campus.  Approximately 600-700 campers attend each summer.

Rolling River’s mission is to encourage campers to “embark on life’s voyage”, meaning that their experience at camp should result in learning a new activity, mastering a skill or building a new relationship.  The expected outcome varies by age: 3-5 year olds learn independence, grades 1-4 experiment with a variety of activities, grades 5-8 explore options on and off-campus and grades 9-10 grow and mature from campers to counselors.

Rolling River accomplishes their mission by creating an intimate, family atmosphere that fosters self-exploration.  Campers feel comfortable trying new activities with encouragement from genuine and caring staff members.  In every group and program area, Rolling River assigns adults for adequate supervision as well as high school or college students to mentor campers and have fun!  Rolling River also provides superior customer service with a consistent and approachable leadership team that partners with parents to satisfy a child’s individual needs and goals.

As one of the top day camps on Long Island, Rolling River provides substantial offerings of age-appropriate activities for campers ages 3-15.  All campers swim twice daily in one of three heated, onsite pools for both instruction and free swim.  Campers also participate in a variety of recreational programs including athletics, creative arts, boating, playgrounds, special events and off-campus trips.  As campers get older, the program includes more customization through hobby and choice periods.

Rolling River’s program is all-inclusive and offers innovative session options.  All campers receive door-to-door bus transportation, onsite dining and certified health center services.  The full camp day runs from 9:00am-4:00pm and a mini day option is available for Nursery and PreK campers.  Campers may select a Classic Program for 4, 6 or 8 weeks or a Flexible Program with the option to choose the number of days or weeks.

Rolling River is accredited by the American Camp Association and licensed by the Nassau County Board of Health.  Rolling River is also open year-round for birthday parties, holiday camps, festivals, reunion events, sports rentals and more.

We sent both of our boys here many years ago and they never forgot their days at Rolling River. Mark and Rhonda were terrific. We miss Rolling River almost as much as our boys do.

We sent our son here after his first camp didn't work out. This one is a lot smaller and more close-knit, and he had an easier time finding his place, meeting friends, and enjoying the activities. They take a more personal approach. It's the first time he's ever enjoyed swimming lessons, and he's doing great in the water!

Both our daughters just love attending Rolling River. It's their third year in a row now, and they were just as excited this summer as they were the first two years. Each year they come home and tell us about brand new experiences. And they've met so many new friends here--including some who go to their school!

Our daughter went to Rolling River last summer and we could not be happier. As an experienced camper myself, I have seen good camps and bad camps. Rolling River leaves them all in the dust. First and foremost is the absolutly wonderful family atmosphere that sets the tone for the entire camp. The incredible variety of activities that are offered to all age groups are second to none. I can't say enough fantastic things about this wonderful place. "How many days till camp"?

Rolling River Day Camp is a wonderful place. My kids have been growing up there in the summertime and as a staff member, I have had nothing but amazing experiences. This camp offers kids a safe, fun and loving environment to explore both new and old activities. My kids and I love going to RRDC and would encourage anyone to try it. I know my children love it there because they talk about camp all year long. During the dull days of winter, they are watching the video yearbook and are singing the color war songs. I have never thought twice about my decision to be at Rolling River. We are all a family and that truly shows when you step foot on the grounds. We LOVE Rolling River!

Rolling River is a fantastic local day camp for children. I worked as a counselor at Rolling River and the staff and kids were great. The atmosphere is very family-oriented as the entire Goodman family works at camp. There is a large variety of activities including banana boating and tubing on their private dock. There are also many traditions at camp and the campers come back year and year. I really enjoyed my experience!

Rolling River is a fantastic, and well-run day camp that provides my daughter with not only a ton of fun, but with a well-rounded camping experience. There are so many activities that engage her from the minute she gets there til the moment she goes home. From the daily swim instruction to pottery to boating, soccer and lanyards, this camp has it all. The counselors are the best, and the friendships she's created along the way are priceless.
