The Oysterponds Historical Society hopes to preserves the history of the Orient and East Marion communities and celebrate its culture through education and exhibitions in its six different 19th century built establishments. This includes two seperate school houses, three homesteads and a classic red barn. The artifacts residing withing the museums, including 18th and 19th century furniture and decor, paitings and tools, reflect more than two centuries of North Fork life and culture as does the generous collection of hisotric documents and photogrpahs.
