Old Bethpage Village Restoration gives visitors a unique oppurtunity to step back into the 19th century with a living history museum experience. The OBVR was established on an extraordinary 209-acre plot of land in 1963, originally a 165-acre farm, and offers a look into how homes, farms and businesses operated in the mid-19th century.
Though never an actual village in Long Island's history it represents a typical rural Long Island farm village of the time with roots in Dutch and English settlements on Long Island. As of 2007 the village has opened a Resoration Farm that grows produce available for sale to the public through the villages farm stand in the parking lot.
