This shorter-than-average, 18-hole public golf course has a comfortable, non-intimidating atmosphere that is great for beginners and those who wish to concentrate on polishing their game. Opened in 1965, it offers a 4,109-yard course with a par value of 60. There are six par-4 holes on what is a mostly flat and easy to walk, executive layout. The fairways are wide open and the greens are medium in both size and speed. A lovely lake sits in the middle of the course and becomes the water hazard for two of the holes. Practice areas are also available, as is an on-site professional instructor. Cart rentals are available. The clubhouse contains a restaurant, snack bar and full bar. Senior discounts are applied on Thursdays and there are reduced rates for those who choose the Twilight hours of play. Heatherwood Golf Club is open from dawn to dusk, year-round.
