Captree State Park is home to the largest fishing fleet on Long Island and is best known for fishing and as a picnicking destination. This park has boats available for renting for saltwater fishing. As long as you work with the boating staff at Captree, no licensing or equipment are needed for your day of fishing. There is a area to launch your own boats and a bait and tackle shop for your convenience.

Captree’s picnic area includes a playground, full service dining, and casual dining that overlooks Fire Island.
