Exchange your Christmas tree for a free bag of mulch at the Town of Hempstead Mulchfest. The trade-in takes place at Baldwin Park on Sunday, January 2 and Saturday, January 8 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. The first-ever town Mulchfest was held last January and Hempstead Town Supervisor Don Clavin invites residents to come down to the 2022 event.

It’s a great way to “chip in” and get a head start on the gardening season while disposing of your Christmas tree in an environmentally-friendly way. Got a bunch of cardboard boxes? Bring those for recycling, too. Baldwin Park is located at 3232 Grand Avenue in Baldwin. The event is free and open to all Town of Hempstead residents.
