Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office to Crack Down on Illegal Handicap Parking

Written by Long Island  |  21. December 2020

The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office will once again undertake enhanced enforcement aimed at illegal parking in handicap spaces throughout Suffolk County. Effective immediately and through New Year’s Day, all Deputy Sheriffs will be directing their enforcement efforts to violations of sections 1203-b and 1203-c of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

Sheriff Toulon stated, “The purpose of this enforcement is to act as a deterrent to the illegal use of handicap parking spots, which creates a particular hardship, especially during the holiday season, for the citizens of Suffolk County who actually have need of such spaces.”
