ELARA FOODSERVICE DISPOSABLES INCORPORATES CHARITABLE GIVING IN ITS BUSINESS MODEL

MINEOLA, NY - December 21, 2011 - Island Harvest, Long Island's largest hunger relief organization, and Elara Foodservice Disposables LLC, a socially responsible manufacturer of single-use gloves and cutlery used by restaurants and institutions, have teamed up to help Long Islander's struggling with hunger. Under its signature "One Case/One Meal" program, Elara will provide the financial equivalent of one meal directly to Island Harvest for every case of products it sells in the region. Since May, 2011 Elara has already contributed the equivalent of over 30,000 meals through the program to directly benefit those accessing Long Island's soup kitchens, food banks and emergency feeding programs served by Island Harvest. "Island Harvest is the recognized leader in providing essential food support services to nearly 300,000 men, women and children who are food insecure right here on Long Island," said Dan Grinberg, founder and president of Elara who also serves on Island Harvest's board of directors.
