The survey is designed to provide nonprofits and those that fund the sector (government, corporations, and individuals) some insight into the challenges faced by Long Island organizations. This year's survey makes it clear, the Long Island nonprofit community cannot continue to meet the growing demand with the shrinking resources that it has. Nonprofits need to find ways to function more strategically and increase their community impact if they will be successful in attracting financial investment into their operations through joint ventures and donations. "To succeed, organizations need to start thinking more strategically, and unified," said Ken Cerini, Managing Partner of Cerini & Associates. "Collaboration provides such an opportunity. With 23% of respondents reporting that they will not be able to meet the growing demand of services during the upcoming year, organizations need to find economies of scale." Partnering with Long Island Business News; Pipeline, LLC; Campolo, Middleton & McCormick, LLP, ACE Payroll, The Association of Fundraising Professionals, Long Island Chapter; TFD Online, and Dayton & Sydney Wealth Strategies Group-The 2011 Survey puts into perspective the challenging environment that the Long Island community is in, while illustrating the need for the sector to think creatively, adopt best business practices, and collaborate to remain effective.
