Written by Cait Russell  |  20. December 2011

This holiday season, as you celebrate with your family, take a moment to remember that there are less fortunate families who live right here on Long Island that are in need of assistance. Thankfully, through the strength of the community and many local charitable organizations, there is assistance available for those who are struggling, or experiencing a time of need. We’ve compiled a quick list of some helpful charities that are reaching out to the Long Island Community this holiday season, and included their contact information should you want to help, or be in need of assistance.

Toys of Hope

This Long Island based charity collects and distributes toys, books, clothing and for children and families in need, and the donations stay right here on Long Island to help local families. During this holiday season, they will be having events and donation drives all over Long Island.
