Winter break is almost here! Which means, very soon all of the kids will be out of school and back at home just in time to celebrate the holidays with their families. If you have a child who is eagerly counting down to Winter Break, make their Winter Break that much better by engaging in some Winter Break staycation fun! From strapping on some skates and going for a glide on the ice, to heading to the theaters to see this season’s big movie blockbusters, there’s always tons of great things to do here on Long Island - no matter the season!

Enroll Your Kids in a Winter Camp! Don’t let your kid’s Winter Break turn into a big veg fest in front of the television or computer, enroll them into a Winter Break camp on Long Island! Camp will keep your child’s mind and body active , give them an opportunity to socialize and make new friends and perhaps even learn a new skill!

Go Ice Skating! Sure you can go ice skating at an indoor rink anytime you like but let’s face it, ice skating screams Winter, and here on Long Island during this time of year you can choose whether or not you’d like to spend some time on the ice inside at a temperature controlled rink or outside in the fresh, crisp air!

Take the Train Over to NYC! Even if you don’t have plans to travel for the holidays you can still travel into the City for a full day of metropolitan fun! Take a walk over to the tree in Rockefeller Center, snag some last minute tickets to a Broadway show, or sit down to a delicious dinner at a top rated restaurant!

Head to the Movies! Two of the most popular times for big hit blockbusters are the summertime and right around Christmas, which means this upcoming Winter Break will have plenty of great films hitting the silver screen for you to watch! Just a few titles coming out soon in theaters are, Into the Woods, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, Annie, Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb and more!

Throw a Holiday Party! Be the life of the party this Winter Break by throwing your own holiday themed bash! Come up with an awesome theme, like an ugly sweater party or sweet cookie exchange party, inform all of your guests of the chosen theme then get ready to have a great time!

How will you, and your kids, be spending your Winter Break this year? Let us know in the comments!
