Interesting Ways to Utilize Mason Jars on your Wedding Day

When it comes to planning a wedding, the decor is an extremely important part of the process. A lot of money gets spent in this department, as well. In order to save some money, why not incorporate mason jars into your wedding? You can purchase different sizes and paint them to match your theme colors.
Mason jars have become quite popular over the past few years, as more and more uses for them have come to the surface. The jars themselves are incredibly cheap and can be found online or at a local store and they can be used for so many different things!

Centerpieces are a way for you to show your creative side since you can pretty much make them however you’d like! If you create them on your own it can help keep some money in the bank, too. Use the mason jars by sticking candles in them or filling them up with water and marbles. If you’re having a seasonal wedding, stick an item in there to represent your theme. For example, if you’re having a fall wedding, throw in some cranberries to sit at the bottom and complete the look with seasonal colored flowers. You can make it even more simple by using them as a vase for just flowers, or dress them up by adding some lace to the outside with a fancy bow. Some other items you can use to decorate them are burlap, paint, pearls and glitter. If you’re interested in having a winter wedding, stick mini Christmas trees inside with some fake snow to give it a snow globe effect!
A romantic way to light your celebration is to use mason jars with tea lights in them. You can place them on the table and make the arrangement part of your centerpiece or hang them instead! If you are having an outdoor wedding, a fun way to do this is to hang them from the tree branches. This will not only light up the evening but will also make for some amazing decor. Another fun way to utilize mason jars as lighting is to attach the light to the lid of the jar, close it then flip it upside down!

The great thing about mason jars is that you can put so many different things inside and then once they’re empty, they can be used as decor or for storage in your home!

Using mason jars to serve the dessert and drinks is a fun and unique idea rather than having the traditional glasses, plates and bowls. Each guest can have their own mason jar the entire night or you can set up a table that has a bunch of them. Put your tasty desserts in them and attach a spoon to the jar with a ribbon to match your colors. Some dessert ideas you can use are pudding, key lime pie, strawberry shortcake and s’mores. Just layer them in the jar and enjoy! Dress up the drinks a bit too with festive straws and decor. If you’re having a fall wedding, cider drinks are a wonderful idea. For a winter wedding, try something more warming like hot chocolate with marshmallows. You could even set up a station for the drinks where your guests make their own to their liking!
