Nassau Legis. Dave Denenberg Presents Three Sandy-Related Events

Nassau County Legis. Dave Denenberg is scheduled to present three Sandy-related public events this week.

On Monday night, Nov. 26, Denenberg will be joined by County Legislators Kevan Abrahams and Joe Scannell at the Freeport Library for a Hurricane Recovery Workshop.  Representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Office of Emergency Management, Community Emergency Response Teams, LICARES, Island Harvest, the American Red Cross, National Grid, New York State Department of Labor, the Nassau County Department of Health, and the Department of Social Services, as well as various local town and village officials.  
 
The workshop is an opportunity for residents to receive information about the recovery and assistance in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy.  The meeting will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Freeport Library, 144 West Merrick Road in Freeport.
 
Later in the week, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, Nov. 27 and 29, Denenberg will be presenting Disaster Response forums.  Nassau County residents will have the opportunity to discuss Sandy-related topics.  Denenberg will be joined by representatives local civic associations.  
 
Tuesday’s forum will be held at Grand Avenue Middle School (2301 Grand Avenue, Bellmore) at 7 p.m.  Thursday’s forum will be held at Freeport High School (50 South Brookside Avenue, Freeport) also beginning at 7 p.m.
