The Third Squad reports the arrest of a Roosevelt man for an incident that occurred on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at 2:20 pm in East Garden City.
According to Detectives, Officers responded for a disturbance on Old Country Road and Albany Avenue. Upon arrival, officers were informed that the defendant Kenneth Edwards, 33, of 57 E. Clinton Avenue was impeding traffic and had brandished a black knife at passing motorists. After a thorough investigation, the defendant was located nearby and while police attempted to place him into custody, he became violent and combative causing an officer to
sustain an injury during the course of the arrest. The injured officer was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. The defendant was also transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment.
Defendant Kenneth Edwards is charged Assault 2 nd Degree, Menacing 3 rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Obstructing Governmental Administration 2 nd Degree and Resisting Arrest. He will be arraigned on Monday, November 24, 2025 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
