Are You Wearing The Wrong Bra Size?

Written by lingerie  |  14. November 2000

It is often reported that more than 50 percent of woman are wearing the wrong bra size. To determine your bra size, two specific measurements are needed, band size and cup size. Band size is expressed by a number (32, 34, 36, etc.). Bra cup size is represented by a letter (A, B, C, etc.). Breast size frequently changes with age and weight variations. You should measure breasts each time you decide to purchase a new bra to ensure the right fit and the best look for your body. To help you determine the correct bra size, here are a few simple steps to follow: 1. Measure your band size first. Stand naturally without your clothes on. Place measuring tape around your body directly underneath your breasts. Hold the tape snugly and read your band size measurement. 2. For cup size, you will need to mark the outer and inner center edge of your breast. This can be done standing, if you have smaller, firmer breasts or lying down if you have larger breasts. Hold the tape measure at one edge you marked. Next, bring the tape around the fullest part of the breast to the edge you marked. 3. To determine your correct bra size, simply locate the cup size that corresponds to the band size you already measured. This is your correct bra size.
