An Immersive Wonderland of Lights Comes to Manhasset

Written by Catherine Eve  |  13. November 2021

Experience an evening filled with light and radiance at the LuminoCity Festival at Whitney Pond Park in Manhasset. This immersive, family-friendly, outdoor event features magical displays and unique pieces of art, including one-of-a-kind handmade sculptures, illuminated with light and color. It runs Thursdays through Sundays from 4:30 to 9 p.m., through January 9.

Guided by Lumi, the LuminoCity mascot, guests will walk through a world of towering luminescent sculptures reflecting “Alice in Wonderland,” Christmas and wildlife themes. The event, which was previously held at Randall’s Island, features the all-new exhibit Lumi’s Utopia, as well as favorites such as Lumi’s Friends. There will be plenty of opportunities to take pics with Lumi and the gang.

The event is being hosted by the Town of North Hempstead and LuminoCity. A joint statement called the festival a “unique holiday event” and stated that they have worked “collaboratively to plan what will be a dazzling winter wonderland.”

Whitney Pond Park is located at 7 Community Drive East in Manhasset. Tickets, which are $38 for ages 13+ and $27 for children ages 3-12, are sold for timed admission entry. All attendees ages 3 and older must have a ticket. Free parking is available at the Manhasset Macy’s at 1100 Northern Blvd. and a free shuttle will be provided to bring guests to the festival location. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the LuminoCity Festival website.
