The holidays are quickly coming upon us! And, it’s even more apparent with all the talk about holiday pies, turkey trots and gingerbread. Check out the hot spots to get into holiday spirit here. There’s also music entertainment to enjoy!

FRIDAY – NOVEMBER 15, 2013

Who: Holiday Pie Workshop At The Kitchen Co-op
Info: Take part in this 3-hour workshop where you’ll learn how to make the perfect pie crust, decorate your pie and make a great tasting and good-looking pie to take home and share with family and friends. Also, eat pie as you learn in this workshop.

Who: Styx At NYCB Theatre At Westbury
Info: They’re one of the biggest album-rock bands of the late 70s with hits like ‘Lady,’ ‘Come Sail Away,’ ‘Babe’ and more.

Who: Full Dome Alternative Rock Show At Vanderbilt Museum And Planetarium
Info: Enjoy a rock music show featuring many special effects projected on the planetarium’s 60-foot dome. Rock bands featured include Beck, Nine Inch Nails, Daft, Punk, Smashing Pumpkins and more!

Who: Matthew’s Turkey Trot & Chicken Run At West Harbor Memorial Park
Info: This event benefits the Matthew Fetzer Foundation and their Holiday Toy Drive for children battling cancer. Kids can enjoy a chicken run event and the turkey trot follows after that. There will also be a bone marrow drive that you can sign up for.
Cost: $25 For Advance Purchased Ticket, $30 Day Of Event

Who: Gingerbread Competition At The Chocolate Duck
Info: Enjoy the gingerbread competition! As a spectator you can also vote for your favorite edible structure inspired by Long Island.
Cost: Free For Spectators, $5 to $25 to Enter the Competition

Who: History of World Wrestling Entertainment At Bethpage Library
Info:  The author of “WWE Encyclopedia” will be on hand to take you on a journey through the history of wrestling with a multimedia presentation highlighting WWE’s greatest Legends, Superstars and moments. Copies of “WWE Encyclopedia Updated & Expanded” will also be available for sale with signing after purchase.

Who: A Christmas Carol At Theatre Three
