Make a Veteran's Keepsake Box at Home Depot Workshop

Written by Catherine Eve  |  06. November 2019

Learn a new skill while making a wood box to hold your own military mementos or to give to a veteran. In honor of Veterans Day, The Home Depot is holding a Veteran’s Keepsake Box workshop this Saturday, November 9, from 10 – 11:30 a.m. at all its Long Island locations. This do-it-yourself workshop will be led by a Home Depot associate and will teach participants how to create a 12” square keepsake box that can be used for holding medals, ribbons, dog tags, military patches, and challenge coins.

The box will be built using a circular saw and drill and can be personalized with paint or stain. Hinges and closure pieces will be attached as well. The workshop is a mix of instruction, demonstration and hands-on learning. The workshop is free. All materials are available for purchase.

The Home Depot workshops are designed for all levels of experience and are especially helpful for beginners, who build confidence as they create projects. For more information about the Veteran’s Keepsake Box workshop and other upcoming DIY workshops, and to register online, visit The Home Depot website
