The Homicide Squad reports the details of a Fatal Vehicular Accident that occurred on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at 11:00 PM in North Bellmore.
According to Detectives, a 59-year-old male was operating a 2009 Chevrolet westbound on North Jerusalem Road in the vicinity of Sherman Avenue where he was involved in a collision with a 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle being operated by a 63-year-old male traveling eastbound. The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was pronounced at scene. The
operator of the Chevrolet fled the scene on foot. An investigation was conducted and the Defendant Patrick Thompson, 59, of 55 Slate Lane, Levittown was located nearby by the Nassau County Police Departments Canine Unit and was placed under arrest without incident.
Defendant Patrick Thompson is charged with Vehicular Manslaughter 2 nd Degree, Leaving the Scene of an Incident Resulting in a Fatality and Driving While Intoxicated. He will be arraigned on Monday, October 27, 2025 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
