Mother Nature is one thing we have little control over. As everyone braces for Hurricane Sandy, we can only hope and pray for the best and that the sky will clear for Long Island’s nightly entertainment to continue. We highlight entertainment opportunities going into the week should it be possible to do so safely. Entertainment includes movie nights, additional Halloween fun with haunted mansions and costume parties, musical performances by great talent at theaters and more. Check out the details below!

MONDAY – OCTOBER 29, 2012

Who: Movie Night At West Babylon Public Library
Info: Monday night is Movie Night at West Babylon Public Library. Stop by to enjoy the screening of the PG-13 movie Think Like a Man.

Who: Landmarks of New York Featured At Bryant Library
Info: It’s your chance to see New York City landmarks from the 1620s to the 1980s. There are approximately 90 photographs documenting New York City landmarks as archives of the Roslyn Landmark Society. The photographs continue to be available for viewing through November 20.
Cost: Free Event

TUESDAY – OCTOBER 30, 2012

Who: Dinner and Movie Night at The Patio Marina Lounge
Info: Head over to The Patio Marina Lounge for a relaxing movie night and $30 two-course prix-fixed dinner. It’ll be screening The Rocky Horror Picture Show from its 12-ft TV screen – a suitable movie for the eve of Halloween.

Who: Haunted Mansion of Melville at F&W Schmitt’s Family Farm
Info: You haven’t experienced terror until you’ve visited the large haunted mansion in Melville at F&W Schmitt’s Family Farm. It also offers a haunted nighttime corn maze where creepiness clutches on to all who enter.

WEDNESDAY – OCTOBER 31, 2012

Who: Jennifer Warnes Performs At Molloy College Madison Theatre
Info: Jennifer Warnes’ songs have won Grammys and Oscars. She’s also made her marks with soundtracks for a number of popular films from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Some of her biggest hits include “Where We Belong” (a duet with Joe Cocker for the film An Officer and a Gentleman, “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” (a duet with Bill Medley for the film Dirty Dancing) and more. Now she makes her New York area appearance here on Long Island. Don’t miss her performance!

Who: 13th Annual Rowdyween At Rowdy Hall

Who: Singles Meet & Greet At Thom Thom Steak & Seafood Restaurant
Info: Vicki’s Six Minute Dating is hosting this dance party where singles of all ages can meet and greet to live music. There will be wine, beer, soda, snacks, door prize give-a-ways and a chance to meet other singles. Guests are also welcome to submit a song request for live music play.
