Throats of Four Kittens Slashed on Long Island

Written by Wendy L  |  04. October 2013

Four kittens were found with their throats slashed in Riverhead earlier this week. The finding was made in the rear yard of a business on East Main Street.

The kittens appear to be about three weeks old and were thrown over a fence and into the yard of the business, according to Chief Roy Gross of the Suffolk County SPCA.

The kittens were discovered when an employee of the business was coming in to work.

The Suffolk County SPCA is now offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the individual (or individuals) responsible for the killing and mutilation of the kittens.

Those responsible for this crime may face a felony charge of animal cruelty, which is up to two years in jail for each killed animal.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Suffolk SPCA at (631) 382-7722. Calls will be kept confidential.
