Looking to enjoy a good show? Your options are plenty on Long Island with performances like “A Lie of The Mind,” “Making God Laugh” and “Twelve Angry Men.” There’s also benefit events, a comedy jam, art exhibits and much more to enjoy this entire week! Check out the details below!

MONDAY – OCTOBER 7, 2013

Who: An Evening Of Tasting And Giving At The Carltun At Eisenhower Park
Info: This benefit event for The Cancer Center for Kids at Winthrop University Hospital, pediatric specialty practices at other hospitals, and scholarship funds is hosted by the Michael Margo Foundation. It’ll feature the best of Long Island’s restaurants, bakeries, and wineries.
Cost: $75 Per Person

Who: Great Bridal Extravaganza
Info: This ultimate fall bridal show features over 30 exhibitors for all wedding planning needs. There’s also a live band and DJ performance to enjoy as well as complimentary food and dessert samplings.

TUESDAY – OCTOBER 8, 2013

Who: A Lie Of The Mind At Hofstra University Black Box Theater
Info: Enjoy a performance presented by Hofstra University’s Department of Drama and Dance. The performance is based on the play written by Sam Shepard that tells the story of two families after a severe incident of spousal abuse changed their lives. It looks into family dysfunctions and love.

Who: Jethro Tull’s Ian Anderson At NYCB Theatre At Westbury
Info: Enjoy a performance of the Jethro Tull classic, ‘Thick As A Brick’ in its entirety for the first time since 1972. Anderson will also perform the new album ‘Thick As Brick 2.’

Who: Making God Laugh At BroadHollow Theatre At Elmont
Info: Enjoy a performance about a couple of empty nesters who welcome home their children over various holidays spanning 30 years. The interaction between the parents and children causes tension as well as laughter.

Who: Cakeboys Comedy Jam At Black Pearl
Info: It’s a night of laugher, fun, and food with the comedy jam hosted by RIP Michaels. Ladies also get to enjoy drinks free from 10PM to 11PM.

THURSDAY – OCTOBER 10, 2013

Who: Twelve Angry Men At John W. Engeman Theater At Northport
Info:  It’s a story that takes you into the courtroom and the jury room. The defense and the prosecution have rested and the jury is filing into the jury room to decide if a young Spanish-American is guilty or innocent of murdering his father. What begins as an open and shut case of murder soon becomes a mini-drama of each of the juror's prejudices and preconceptions about the trial, the accused and each other.

Who: AftermodernisM “AM” At Nassau County Museum Of Art
Info: This exhibit features the work of five contemporary artists: Nina Chanel Abney, Justin Craun, Wendell Gladstone, Erik Parker, and Tom Sanford. They represent a movement of young artists involved in the use of very strong color. Their work combines figurative and abstract elements in new and innovative ways. The exhibit continues to run through Oct. 13.
