September seems to be flying right by - we're a mere week away from October, and boy, this week could you feel the chill in the air. The Fall season has gotten off to a great start, with plenty of clear, crisp days to enjoy the cool weather. Thankfully, this weekend is looking to be clear as well - perfect for enjoying a day of outdoor fun. Soon the leaves will be turning, and we've even put together a guide of some of the best parks on Long Island to enjoy a stroll this Fall (see below), and take in the beauty of the season. The Best Fall Foliage Hiking Spots on Long Island
Find the Best Places to See the Leaves Turn on LI!
As the temperature starts to drop, so do the leaves.  The lush green trees on Long Island transform before your eyes into bright shades of oranges, yellows and reds.  It is the great time of year to take advantage of the 200+ miles of local hiking trails.  The state parks have a rating system for their ranging from easy, family-friendly to advanced.  There are also some designated for pets and joggers.  Some of the trails are in town or county parks.  Others are maintained by the Nature Conservancy.  Traverse past haunted lighthouses stuffed with peg legs, otherworldly landscapes, sunbathing seals, and sparkling sea sides. There is really something for everyone.

Central Islip Fire Department Annual Comedy Show Fund Raiser
