Wheatley Heights, NY - September 29, 2017 - On October 5, 2017 from 2:00PM – 8:00PM at The Adventure Park at Long Island, every single dollar from every single climbing ticket sold will go straight to The American Cancer Society in the Park’s fundraiser event: “Climb Against Cancer” at 75 Colonial Springs Road in Wheatley Heights, NY (Town of Babylon).

Every “Yippee!” heard on the zip lines; every “Hey, look at me!”; every “Here I go!...” will mean someone’s having a good time in the trees AND someone else somewhere else will be closer to a cure to cancer. Fun fights cancer.

For those who may not wish to zip line or climb there will be many more activities going on at the event. Other local organizations have offered to join in the fun as well so there will be a variety of activities. Fun, games, arts & crafts, face painting, live music and more. Non-climbers are welcome to come and enjoy the fun with their feet planted firmly on mother earth. There will be plenty to see and do for all visitors.

The idea for the event came from one of the young Park employees, who is a cancer survivor and will be present at the event.

Specially priced 3-hour climbing tickets at $50 each for all ages, 7 through adult, can be reserved online. Details and reservations here.

What is The Adventure Park?
The Adventure Park is not one single aerial treetop trail but a variety of different, color-coded trails of differing challenge levels--beginner through expert--that climbers choose from depending on their age or climbing experience. These aerial trails consist of platforms installed in the trees and connected by various configurations of cable, wood and rope to form "crossings" of different kinds including the ever-popular zip lines. Climbers wear harnesses which are doubly secured to safety cables using the Park's "always locked on" system of interlocking safety clips. Before venturing onto the trails climbers receive an interactive orientation and practice session.

The Adventure Park at Long Island is designed, built and operated by Outdoor Ventures in cooperation with Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds. It is located at 75 Colonial Springs Road, Wheatley Heights, NY 11798.  For further details and updates visit LongIslandTrees.org, email Info@LongIslandTrees.org or call (631) 983-3844.
