As a public service to the community, McPeak's Assisted Living is offering a free guidebook entitled "Is Assisted Living The Right Option for Our Family?" which explains the advantages that assisted living provides over living at home alone.

The guidebook discusses the advantages of assisted living, including enhanced safety, better diet, exercise, nutrition and community. It further explains that, often, assisted living is more cost-effective than living alone. For example, the base price for McPeak's is $2,700 per month. Once you add up the costs of groceries, mortgage, utilities and other expenses associated with maintaining one's own home, many people will find that these costs exceed the cost of assisted living.

"We encourage families to download the guidebook or contact us for a free copy and that they consider assisted living when making a care choice for a loved one," said James McPeak, Owner, McPeak's Assisted Living.

About McPeak's Assisted Living

Founded in 1956 by James and Katherine McPeak, both Registered Nurses, McPeak's is an assisted living facility that provides outstanding service, at reasonable cost, to adults and the elderly based on the philosophy that it is a community responsibility to preserve the health, safety, comfort and general welfare of our elderly and infirm residents. Residents live in a comfortable home-like setting in a former mansion first built in 1924 that has been updated to include numerous safety features and modern amenities. Smoke and fire protection systems and a new elevator provide a safe alternative to living alone. Supervision is handled by a trained staff for 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Activities, specialized diets and medication management are also provided.
