Suffolk County Police today arrested a West Babylon man for seriously injuring an acquaintance during an assault in North Amityville this afternoon.
 
Angelo Andrade was at the home of an acquaintance, located at 187 Jefferson Ave., when he slashed the man’s neck with a knife. Andrade also threatened another resident with the knife before fleeing the home. The 45-year-old victim was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Angelo Andrade, 49, of 544 18th Street, was arrested a short time later and charged with Assault 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, Menacing 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree. He is being held overnight at the Third Precinct and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on September 22.
