Fitness and Health Awareness Day to Benefit Cohen's Childrens Hospital

Written by Long Island  |  19. September 2011

As the summer comes to an end and School begins again, the time is ripe to make a yearlong health and fitness commitment for the entire family. To this point, on Saturday September 24th from 1pm to 4pm, please join BodyWorks Fitness and its staff at Bodyworks Fitness, 100 Parkway Drive South in Hauppague, for their special first Fitness and Health Awareness Day and Expo, a free all ages event. Attendees are being asked to bring crayons and a coloring book or pencils and a notepad as a donation to Cohen's Children's Hospital. BodyWorks Fitness Director Gwen Victor noted "with School starting again the idea of the kids in the hospital being able to enjoy a little sense of normalcy by getting some of the same supplies that their contemporaries receive as they start out the New Year would be wonderful". Your family should visit the facility as there will be access to the large kid's birthday party room and a bounce house, as well as a face painter and other appropriate activities including a free visit from the Good Humor man. Local Radio station 94X will also be on site with their wheel of prizes hosting the event live. Tropical Smoothie Cafe will also be handing out samples of their latest flavors and there will be food sampling with tables from several local food stores. This special first time annual event will also feature a vendors village consisting of products and information from Long Island based businesses who, when used in addition to a regular workout regimen, can help you and your loved ones stay fit and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Some of the participating companies include well known industry leaders such as Gaspari Nutrition, Chiropractor Dr. Forman, Species Nutrition, Infinite Labs, Palm Beach Tans with more being added each day. Looking for something new and exciting? Watch their demonstrations of Kickboxing, Zumba, Turbo Kick and more. Plus, there will be a special program from celebrity Frank Sepe. So, on Saturday September 24th, come support a worthy cause and enjoy a host of free activities and refreshments while providing your family with education to strive for personal fitness and health goals.
