Should You Expect Your Printed Material To Always Look Good? Answer: "Yes!" Great Looking Printing . . attracts attention! Ordinary Printing . . . . imparts information! Bad Printing turns prospective clients away! When was the last time you called a company whose sales kit did not look professional? The BIG question is: Does printing that attracts customers, makes them go "WOW" and want to save your literature, cost more? Usually great looking printing and bad printing cost almost the same. Great looking printing only costs more if the "look" you want requires special equipment and specially trained people to produce it. Which leads to another question . . . Do printers who produce exceptionally good looking printing charge more? No, and here's why. Sometimes parts of your job may have to be out-sourced to achieve the look you want. The printer who does not have the equipment to handle it acts as a middleman . . . marking up the cost of somebody else's work. But most important, the printer you choose, should know you, your requirements, and be able to control the quality and turn-around time from beginning to end. He can only do this if he is capable of handling your entire job himself. What about Special effects? Are they worth the extra charges? Some special effects can be added for "free" while others add extra steps to a job, and extra steps usually mean more money. However, experienced printers will help you control your costs. The point is you want your printed job to attract attention, with or without special effects, and a quality printer will do this for you. Bottom line: you don't need anyone to tell you what a good printing job looks like. You can spot quality yourself . . . and to assure you get quality in your next printing job, choose an experienced printer. Ask if he produces your work in-house. You want him to have full control over your job so he can guide the production of it to meet your specific requirements. If you can afford printing, you can afford great looking printing, and should not settle for less! The most important question is . . . Does quality printing have to cost more? Sometimes . . . although, usually not. But, how much will it cost if your work doesn't look professional? It can cost you prospective clients, which will probably be more than the difference between a good printing job and a bad one. Remember, the old saying, "You have only one chance to make a good first impression." How much are you willing to save for a bad first impression?
