Hordes of people head out to Long Island farms during the Fall for pumpkin picking, hayrides, and corn mazes but Long Island farms have even more than that to offer visitors! Another great activity to do while one the farm is spend some time with the animals. Many farms have a petting zoo for kids and families to enjoy during their full day of fun on the farm.

Petting zoos are a wonderful way for kids to learn about animals up close and personal. They get to interact with them, feed them, pet them and learn fun facts about them. Introducing children to animals at a young age also helps them to foster a love and appreciation for animals. It can help spark an interest in them that they may not have had otherwise.

This Fall be sure to bring your kids down to the farm to enjoy the benefits and fun of petting zoos.
