What’s old is cool again. Whether you’re a serious vinyl collector or a music lover who appreciates quality sound and creative album art and packaging, these record stores can help you take part in the vinyl revival.

Infinity Records

510 Park Blvd., Massapequa Park

Infinity Records has been a go-to destination for record lovers for over 28 years. It specializes in new and used LPs, 45s and 12" singles. Infinity Records also sells new and used CDs, cassettes, and musical instruments. And if you need a turntable for your new vinyl, don’t worry, you’ll  probably find that here too.

Looney Tunes

31 Brookvale Ave., West Babylon

There's always something happening at Looney Tunes. The family-owned music store opened in 1971 and has a large selection of LPs, CDs, DVDs and music memorabilia. Looney Tunes also hosts many in-store events such as autograph signings and live band performances from its stage in the middle of the store. Be sure to check the website regularly -- select new vinyl releases can be pre-ordered online. 

Mr. Cheapo CD & Record Exchange

46 Jericho Tpke., Commack

Mr. Cheapo CD & Record Exchange was started in 1982 by a self-proclaimed “music fanatic”  whose wife actually gave him the nickname “Cheapo.”  Mr. Cheapo buys and sells used vinyl records of all genres. Needle & Groove Records

73 Atlantic Ave., Lynbrook

One of the newest additions to the Long Island record store scene is Needle & Groove Records, which opened in 2018 sells rare and near-mint vinyl. It also sells band stickers, patches and buttons. Record Stop

30 Railroad Ave., Patchogue

The spacious interior of the Record Stop in Patchogue makes browsing a breeze. The store, originally located in Lake Ronkonkoma, has been around since 1974 and specializes in new and used vinyl records, CDs, DVDs, turntables, Blu-ray and music accessories.

Vinyl Bay 777

101-14 Dupont St., Plainview

Vinyl Bay 777 has a huge selection of new and pre-owned vinyl records with a focus on rare and out of print records. It sells 12” vinyl and 45s, including promos and imports. According to its website, Vinyl Bay 777 has the largest collection of jazz and blues records on Long Island. In addition to vinyl, Vinyl Bay 777 sells music memorabilia, CDs and cassettes.
