Hibachi Hot Spots: Dinner & A Show!

Written by Kelly Tenny  |  14. September 2014

A great way to spend an evening is to go out to a Hibachi restaurant. Hibachi restaurants not only provide a delicious wide range of Japanese cuisine, they also offer entertainment to their guests. Hibachi is extremely unique in that you get to view your food being made right in front of you. The chef also makes of show of tossing pieces of food into guests’ mouths, creating steamy onion volcanoes, and throwing knives up in the air (and catching them!). Menu-wise Hibachi usually has chicken, vegetable, beef, shrimp, and at least one other seafood option. It is also not uncommon to see items like lobster, filet mignon, duck, and Chilean sea bass on the menu.

Hibachi is also a wonderful option for big group outings. Hibachi is designed to accommodate more people at one table than a traditional restaurant. The long rectangular shape of the table allows everyone to see the chef at work and allows patrons to easily communicate and socialize with one another. For those faint of heart I’d recommend not sitting right next to the chef. When the chef goes into their routine of throwing large knives up in the air it can be rather frightening, especially the first time seeing it done.

Here are some of the many delicious hibachi restaurants around Long Island.
