It’s a complete weekend of festivals on Long Island! Festivals provide an opportunity for entertainment and fun for all ages. This weekend, head out to enjoy the Fifth Annual Long Island Family Festival at Tanner Park, the Fall Harvest and Seafood Festival at Captree State Park, Ompahfest & Schuetzenfest at Plattdeutsche Park and the 32nd Annual Hallockville Fall Festival and Craft Show at Hallockville Museum Farm. There are also a number of musical performances happening this weekend, including one that is a tribute to the great Neil Diamond at the Dix Hills Performing Arts Center, Florence and the Machine at the Jones Beach Theater, Darius Rucker at NYCB Theatre at Westbury and Heatwave at Raphael Vineyard and Winery. FRIDAY – SEPTEMBER 14, 2012

Who: Neil Diamond Songs From Beginning to Now by Diamond One Hot Night
Info: It’ll be a night of tribute to Neil Diamond as the band Diamond One Hot Night brings a performance of sound, costumes and a stage show replicating the great Neil Diamond.
Cost: $30 to $35
Time & Place: 7:30PM at Dix Hills Performing Arts Center, 305 North Service Road, Dix Hills – (631) 656-2148

Who: Game 1 of 4 with the Long Island Ducks and Camden Riversharks
Info: Enjoy a night of baseball as the Long Island Ducks and the Camden Riversharks play game 1 of 4.
Cost: $11 to $15
Time & Place: 7PM at Bethpage Ballpark, 3 Court House Drive, Central Islip – (631) 940-DUCK

Who: Fifth Annual Long Island Family Festival at Tanner Park
Info: The festival is presented by the Copiague Chamber of Commerce. It runs today through Sunday (rain date September 28 to 30). There’ll be musical entertainment, fun-filled events with its pet expo and dog themed event, a pizza pie eating contest, vendors, skate board demonstrations and prizes to win.
Cost: Free Event
Time & Place: 6PM to 10PM (11AM to 10PM on Saturday and 11AM to 8PM on Sunday) at Tanner Park, 123 Kerrigan Road, Copiague – (631) 367-8599

SATURDAY – SEPTEMBER 15, 2012

Who: Florence and the Machine at Nikon at Jones Beach Theater
Info: Florence and the Machine returns to the U.S. with shows across the country. Its performance at Jones Beach will include special guest The Macabees. It will be a performance of “Ceremonials,” which debuted on the Billboard Top 100 Charts at No. 6.
Cost: $34 and up

Who: Darius Rucker Performs at NYCB Theatre at Westbury
Info: Darius Rucker may be known as the lead singer of Hootie and the Blowfish, but he’s also made his mark as a solo act singer. With a bit of a country twist to his music, Rucker has made it to the Hot Country Songs Chart and was the first African American to win the New Artist Award from the Country Music Association. Enjoy a music concert that will be filled with high-energy!
Cost: $95 to $270

Who: Fall Harvest and Seafood Festival at Captree State Park
Info: This nautical theme festival offers family fun over the weekend. Today is day 1 of 2 for the festival. Enjoy everything from local farm products to boat rides, crab races, pony rides, a private show and other interactive entertainment.

SUNDAY – SEPTEMBER 16, 2012

Who: Ompahfest & Schuetzenfest at Plattdeutsche Park
Info: This festival provides an opportunity to experience German food, beer, entertainment and more. There will be games, raffles, shooting at the rifle range for prizes, German music and lots more!
Cost: $7.50 advanced tickets; $9 day of event

Who: 32nd Annual Hallockville Fall Festival and Craft Show
Info: The festival and craft show will be complete with food, music, games, animals and demonstrations for traditional crafts. Vendors and a farmers market with local produce, cheese, wine and beer will also be on hand. Proceeds will go to support Hallockville Museum Farm.

Who: Live Music By Heatwave at Raphael Vineyard and Winery
Info: The music band Heatwave will be playing favorites from the 50’s and 60’s while the Petrocelli family, owners of Raphael Vineyard and Winery, offers hand-crafted wines born from the soil of North Fork.
Cost: Free Admission
