A Refreshing New Design for Extending Your Enjoyment of Wine!
By Christopher J. Davies
OK...we all know that one of the first rules of wine tasting is to hold your wine glass by the stem and not by the bowl, right? Not any more!
Leave it to the younger generation to set the new rules for making wine tasting cool! Twenty six year old Maximilian Riedel is an 11th generation Riedel and the Executive Vice President of Riedel Crystal, US. His first design is a new "attitude-free" line of six stemless tumblers for white and red wines. "I designed these tumblers to show that wine can be as easily pleasurable as any other beverage. The glasses are very convenient and even fit in New York City kitchen cabinets!"
Riedel "O" Glasses are now available at fine wine retailers nationwide. They are currently made in six different "O" tumbler bowl shapes: Viognier/Chardonnay, Chardonnay, Riesling/Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir/Nebbiolo, Cabernet/Merlot and Syrah/Shiraz. Prices range from $9.95 to $12.45 per glass.
BTW...Maximilian also has simple advice for the pronunciation of his last name-- Riedel rhymes with needle!
