Fun Festive Décor For Fall

Written by Kelly Tenny  |  03. September 2014

Fall is the season full of earth tones mixed with bright vibrant colors. It is a great palette to work with, especially since you can match the beautiful fall foliage outside to your décor inside! Depending on your style and taste the décor can be rich and robust or subtle and subdued.

Leaves, pinecones, sunflowers, wheat, and pumpkins are just some of the fun natural items you’ll see utilized in the seasonal fall décor lining store shelves. Scarecrows, owls, and crows are also very popular when it comes to fall decorative pieces. Fill your home this season with warm colors, natural accents, and add in some delicious autumn scents to complete the fall atmosphere.

Wreaths – Wreaths are wonderful because they show your fun, festive side before guests even enter your home! A wreath makes your entryway more welcoming and sets the tone for what sort of décor will be found inside.

Fall wreaths are a beautiful piece to behold. They are composed of bright, vibrant, eye catching, colors like red, yellow, and orange mixed with darker tones of brown and green.
You can get them custom made at some Long Island craft stores – that way you get to choose the colors, flowers, and other ornaments to perfectly match your theme and preference.

Centerpieces – Centerpieces aren’t just for when you’re entertaining guests! They are great for all seasons and each season you can have fun switching your current centerpiece out for a new one more geared towards the season you are in.

Many people have centerpieces with a Halloween or Thanksgiving motif, but it is much too early to be putting out the fall holiday pieces. Settle on a strictly fall themed centerpiece so you can keep it out all season! Then when Halloween and Thanksgiving roll around you can just add in Halloween and Thanksgiving specific trimming.

Candle Holders – A candle holder is the perfect piece to ornament a dinner table, mantelpiece, or coffee table. They range in size from small, single votive size to large and intricate with spots for many candles. When the candles are lit they will provide a nice warm, relaxed glow to the house.

The other great thing about fall candle holders is filling them up with delicious smelling, fall scented candles! Spiced pumpkin, French vanilla, cinnamon stick, and apple pie are just a few of the delicious scents that could be wafting through your home right now!
