East Northport, NY - August 31, 2013 - Second Precinct officers conducted a sobriety checkpoint on Jericho Turnpike and Elwood Road between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. This operation was conducted for the prevention of injuries and fatalities associated with driving while intoxicated. A total of 187 vehicles went through the checkpoint.

The following people were charged with Driving While Intoxicated:

• Daniel Zakarin, 26, of 5 Lauren Ave., Dix Hills
• Jonathan Doman, 23, of 21 Chatham Place, Dix Hills
• Shawn Gastaldo, 33, of 33 Henearly Drive, Miller Place

The above individuals will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip today.
