SCPD: Medford Man Arrested for Driving with 81 License Suspensions

Oakdale, NY - August 23, 2017 - Suffolk County Police arrested a man for driving with 81 suspensions on his license on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at approximately 12:40 p.m.
 
Highway Patrol Officer Charles Nicotra was monitoring traffic with a plate reader on eastbound Sunrise Highway in Oakdale, New York, when the reader indicated that the license plate on a 2007 Chrysler 300 was suspended. Officer Nicotra pulled over the vehicle at Exit 46 and it was determined that that the driver, Dillon Garcia, was driving with a license that had been suspended 81 times on eight different dates.
 
Garcia, 21, of Medford, New York, was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 2nd Degree and a warrant. He was also issued summonses for a suspended license plate, failure to surrender the license plate and an uninsured vehicle. The vehicle was impounded.
 
Garcia will be held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on August 24.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
