Police: Three Arrests Made in Connection with Nassau County Drug Overdoses
Hempstead, NY - August 21, 2018 - The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a woman from Hempstead and two men, one from Far Rockaway and one from Roosevelt, on Sunday, August 19, 2018 between the hours of 7:30 p.m. and 9:10 p.m. in Hempstead.
According to Narcotics/Vice Squad Detectives, detectives conducted an investigation related to a fatal and non-fatal overdose in Elmont and Franklin Square. This investigation led to the arrest of George Williams, 39, of Roosevelt, in connection with the other two defendants. Williams was arrested on Hewlett Street and Kellum Place and was in possession of a substance believed to be heroin. He also did agree to sell an undisclosed amount of heroin to another for an agreed amount of US currency before being arrested.
Further investigation led to the arrest of Stephanie Snavely, 30, of Hempstead, on Hendricks Avenue and Fulton Avenue. Snavely did knowingly and unlawfully possess an undisclosed amount of glassine envelopes containing a substance believed to be heroin. Kenneth Robinson, 53, of Far Rockaway, was arrested on West Columbia Street and Main Street. Robinson did knowingly and unlawfully possess a straw and a piece of wax paper containing a brown powdery substance believed to be heroin. All three subjects were placed under arrest without incident.
Defendant George Williams is charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree and Violation of Parole. Defendant Stephanie Snavely is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree and defendant Kenneth Robinson is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree. All three defendants were arraigned today, August 20, 2018 in First District Court in Hempstead.
