Looking for a "pawsome" way to support local artists and a pet rescue?  Visit A Kitten Kadoodle Coffee Cafe in Selden, the first full-service restaurant cat cafe in Suffolk County, for an outside craft fair on Sunday, August 23. 

The fair will take place from noon - 5 p.m. in the shopping center parking lot and feature area artists and vendors selling gifts, jewelry, paintings, home decor, ornaments, wooden crafts, candles, clothing, and more. Tables will be placed 6-feet apart.

The cafe’s founder Jennifer Sinz said that since everybody has been in “hibernation mode” she wanted to help local business people who work from home. She is excited about the event and hopes everyone will come out and meet all the vendors and see all the things they have to offer. "It's a nice way for everyone to spend a little family time outdoors," she added.

Sinz runs the 501(c)(3) rescue organization, All About Pets Rescue, Inc., which rescues cats, dogs, rabbits, ducks and chickens. She is also a licensed chef and uses her talents to create the cafe’s vegetarian and vegan offerings which include everything from coffee, teas, and yogurt parfaits to salads, fruit smoothies, baked goods, and more. Everything is fresh and made from scratch. 

Spend an Hour – or the Day – in the Cat Room

Of course, the stars of A Kitten Kadoodle Coffee Cafe are the cats. The cats can be viewed from the cafe, but the eating area is separate from the cat room making the restaurant suitable for guests who are allergic to cats. 

Visitors can enjoy a bite to eat in the cafe and then visit the cat room and meet and play with cats, which are all available for adoption. To go into the cat room – which you can do without visiting the cafe – is $5 for the day. Visitors can stay as long as they want and come back multiple times in one day. There are plenty of toys, chairs, and couches to help encourage playing, cuddling, petting, and socializing with the kitties.

Come for the fun and food and you may just fall in love with a furry new feline family member.

A Kitten Kadoodle Coffee Cafe holds events for all ages, from toddlers to seniors, every month. Some recent events include outdoor yoga, a Reading Program for Children, and Wine Glass Painting.
