New Bike Share Program Coming to Suffolk

Written by erin__l  |  15. July 2019

A new bike sharing program is coming to Suffolk County by next month! 100 bikes will be available throughout the county spread out between 24 different stations for the initial launch of the program. Eventually, there will be a total of 400 bikes available in Suffolk! The stations themselves will also be dispersed throughout, with locations in Patchogue, Babylon, and two other communities that will be determined soon.

The goals with these bikes are to reduce traffic, improve the quality of the air by polluting less, and have easy access to parks and waterfronts around the community.

In order to use a bike, download the Pace app on your phone to unlock a bike and ride away - it’s that simple! This bike sharing program is sponsored the Bethpage Federal Credit Union, so be sure to keep an eye out for the orange bikes with their logo!
