FRESH PRODUCE FOR LONG ISLAND SENIORS

Eligible older persons can receive $18 worth of coupons to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at a local farmers market. The coupons are provided by the New York State Farmers Market Nutrition Program. Farmers Markets are places where local farmers sell their produce directly to consumers, usually right off the trucks. The produce is seasonal, locally grown, fresh-picked and reasonably priced.
