We are just a few days into Summer 2013.  It is already hazy, hot and humid out there!  When the summer sun is blazing, we need all the help we can get to stay cool.  Follow these practical tips to beat the heat and stay fresh in the dog days of summer.  Stay hydrated with water. Drink early, drink often, and drink again. Sweat plays a critical role in keeping your body cool in hot temperatures. Consider eliminating caffeinated drinks (like coffee and cola) from your diet as well as alcohol, certain “hot” spices, and foods with strong odors, such as garlic and onions.

It's all about the clothes.  Choose air-permeable, loose-fitting clothing. Wear natural fabrics, such as cotton, wool, and silk, which allow your skin to breathe. Air your feet. Go barefoot when you can, or at least wear sandals.
