FINDING BEDS FOR AMERICA’S HEROES

No Uniforms, No Identity, No Homes, No Beds: Veterans Suffer in Obscurity
Deon Leftenant is an American Veteran, he served his country well. But as a volunteer
with the Northport Veteran’s Hospital and veteran residences, he became acutely aware
of a prevalent problem plaguing our cultural sensitivities: a preponderance of homeless
American veterans.

On any night in America there are approximately 67,000 homeless veterans – most
without any shelter or beds. They are in a very real sense – invisible. For Deon this is a
shame beyond shames and so he is taking an action, standing up, and doing what he can to help those fallen heroes find the simple comforts we take for granted. The same
comforts they risked their lives to protect for their fellow Americans.

To that end, Mr. Leftenant of Deshalamar CDC 501-C3, is pleased to announce an
amazing event: The Locs-4-Life Fashion Show Charity Event at the Dominican
Village Event Hall in Amityville, New York. This one-of-a-kind Gospel/Fashion/Cultural
extravaganza will take place on June 30, 2012 from 6 to 10 p.m. This is the first step
toward building “The House of Change” Residence for Homeless Veterans.
