Juried Photography Competition

Calling all Shutterbugs! Stony Brook, NY ... June 9, 2011 ... The Long Island Museum in Stony Brook will host a juried photography competition this summer. All amateur and professional photographers are invited to participate by submitting up to three photographs depicting people, places or things on Long Island. All final entries will be on display in an exhibition titled Eye on Long Island, from August 13 through September 5. This special contest is being held in conjunction with a new art exhibition, Fixed Images: Photographs from the Baker/Pisano Collection, opening June 24 in the Art Museum. The museum will host a reception and award ceremony on Sunday, August 14 for all finalists. First, second, and third places, and one honorable mention will be awarded at the reception. The winning four entries will be on display in the Art Museum from September 9 through October 2. Deadline to enter is July 8, 2011.
