MERRICK, NY, June 10, 2011 - With the onset of summer and this week's recent heat wave, Aqua New York (Aqua) is reminding its customers to follow the odd-even schedule for outdoor water use, such as watering lawns, required by Nassau County ordinance. The county ordinance, which is in effect all year, restricts outdoor water use to odd numbered days for odd numbered houses and even numbered houses to even numbered days. Outdoor water use is further restricted between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. "Peak demand for water usage is in the summer months of June, July and August," explains Aqua, New York President Matt Snyder. "Although Aqua's water supply is fine, we want to make sure that our customers are aware of the ordinance." Aqua New York serves more than 152,000 residents in Nassau, Washington, Ulster and Westchester counties in New York, including approximately 135,000 residents in Nassau County, Long Island.
