MEDIA ADVISORY: Islandia Village's Memorial Day Ceremony on May 28 Features Vietnam War-Era Chopper

Who: Allan Dorman, Mayor, Village of Islandia Members of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars, Vietnam Veterans of America and other local organizations U.S. Marine Corps Helicopter Squadron 361, Cutchogue, New York What: The village of Islandia will host a Memorial Day ceremony in front of the memorial at the Veterans Memorial Triangle, located at the intersection of Old Nichols Road and Johnson Avenue. There will be an invocation and then the ceremonial placing of the wreaths. During the ceremony, the U.S. Marine Corps Helicopter Squadron 361 in Cutchogue will perform a flyby over the memorial in a Sikorsky UH-34D helicopter. Where: Islandia Veterans Memorial Triangle Old Nichols Road and Johnson Avenue, Islandia When: Saturday, May 28 10 a.m. Directions: LIE to Exit 58 South (Old Nichols Road).
